Pentecost of the Nations 2010

Join the Pentecost of the Nations

The Pentecost Novena is the first of all novenas, nine days of prayer. After Jesus’ Ascension into heaven, He commanded His disciples to come
together in the upper room to devote themselves to constant prayer (Acts:1:14). They prayed for nine days before receiving the Holy Spirit on
Pentecost.

On May 4, 1897, Pope Leo XIII proclaimed: "We decree and command that throughout the whole Catholic Church, this year and in every subsequent year, a novena shall take place before Whit-Sunday (Pentecost), in all parish churches."

“Oh, if only…unanimous and fervent prayers could be raised to Heaven in every part of Christendom as they were one in the Cenacle (upper room) of Jerusalem for a rekindling of the Divine Spirit.” Bl. Elena Guerra

Imagine what would happen if “unanimous and fervent prayers” were raised in every time zone in the world for nine days!
Imagine what would happen if we witnessed to the power of the Holy Spirit in every part of the world throughout the 24 hours of Pentecost Sunday!
Imagine what God could do if we united in prayer and celebration for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our world!

Imagine our world transformed!

The International Charismatic Catholic Renewal Services (ICCRS) , recognized by the Vatican's Pontifical Council for the Laity, has been organizing the Pentecost of the Nations novena for a few years now. This year's novena be from May 14 to May 22. The event consists of two parts:

Part 1 is the 9-day Novena from May 14 - 22
Part 2 is the Pentecost Day Celebrations on May 23

Any catholic group, even a small private prayer group, may join the Pentecost of the Nations. Each group prays the novena every day from May 14 to May 22. This reenacts the "upper room" experience of the disciples (Acts:1:14). You can download the novena from the Burning Bush Initiative here .

On Pentecost Day itself, May 23, each group may organize it's own Pentecost Day Celebration or join together with other groups and make a bigger one. Some groups have organized healing masses, short recollections and renewal meetings, praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Each group seeks its own Pentecost.

What is different is that millions of catholics around the world are praying the novena at the same time, storming heaven with prayers from all the nations of the world. If you would like to join, register your group at ICCRS so they can get an idea how many nations are participating.
